China's coal consumption records 4.04 billion tons in 2020

On July 14, the Central Electric Power Planning and Design Institute released the China Energy Development Report 2020 in Beijing.
Data showed that China's total energy consumption increased from 4.34 billion tons of standard coal in 2015 to 4 . 98 billion tons of standard coal in 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 2 . 8% . Among them, coal consumption increased from 4 billion tons to 4 . 04 billion tons, with an average annual growth rate of 0 . 2%.
In terms of structure, coal in 2015 accounted for 63.72% of total energy consumption and that in 2020 fell to 56 . 83%; the proportion of non-petrochemical energy increased from 12 . 09% to 15 . 86%.
