NTPC plans to reduce coal-fired power generation capacity by 50% by 2032

NTPC recently noted that it planned to reduce its coal-fired power generation capacity by 50% in the coming ten years and significantly increase the share of renewable resources in power generation at the same time.
A senior executive of this company disclosed that the company planned to make its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy go public within one and a half years and raise funds of INR2.5 trillion to increase power generation capacity of renewable resources and realize the goal of clean energy.
NTPC has promised to invest in 60,000MW of newly-added renewable resources by 2032 and reach a total installed electricity capacity of 132,000MW. Besides, the company also planned to raise clean energy power generation capacity by 4,000MW per year and move it up to 8,000MW by 2032.
