MOIL to explore manganese ore mining in Madhya Pradesh's four districts

India-based MOIL has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation Limited (MPSMCL)
MOIL has carried out detailed remote sensing studies in order to identify the manganese-bearing areas.
MOIL holds around 34 per cent of manganese ore reserves of the country and is contributing 45 per cent of the domestic production. The company has ambitious vision of increasing its production to 25 lakh MTPA by FY 2025-26 and 30 lakh MTPA by 2030.
. As per the MoU, the company will explore the possibilities of manganese ore mining in four districts of the state that is Balaghat, Jabalpur, Jhabua and Chhindwara.MOIL has carried out detailed remote sensing studies in order to identify the manganese-bearing areas.
