Encouraged by strong demand, Chinese imported tantalum concentrate and niobium concentrate prices increased in May. As raw materials' prices increased, Chinese tantalum oxide, tantalum metal and niobium oxide, ferroniobium prices increased accordingly.
As supply remained tight, European tantalite and ferroniobium market prices increased this month. Encouraged by higher production cost, American tantalum metal prices increased in May.
