In domestic market, the prices remained relatively stable in the 1st half of May and started surging on around 15 May as the news of power limitation forced most of operating furnaces to shut down in Yunnan. For chemical grade silicon metal, producers lifted the prices encouraged by the increased prices of metallurgical silicon metal. In export market, the prices weakened in the 1st half of May, but started surging following the hugely increased purchase cost.
