Eight provincial ecological environment protection inspection teams arrive in eight cities of Shandong

With approvals from the provincial Party committee and provincial government, eight provincial ecological protection inspection teams, the second batch of the second round inspection in Shandong, arrived in Jinan, Qingdao, Dongying, Taian, Weihai, Rizhao, Binzhou and Heze in succession from 10 May to 13 May 2021 for inspection in these eight cities as well as the ecological environment protection special inspection in south four lakes in Taian and Heze. By 2 June, all eight inspection teams were in place.
Up to 3 June, eight inspection teams totally received 16,891 telephone and letter tip-offs from the public and accepted 15,170 effective tip-offs, 7,962 of which were settled the related cities. Specifically, 383 enterprises were punished, a fine of about RMB32.28 million (USD5.04 million) was paid, 14 cases were investigated, 11 people were detained, 36 people were interviewed and 44 people were held to account.
