Mongolia's Tavan Tolgoi coal preparation plant to start construction in Q3

Recently, the Mongolia's resolution on taking measures to strengthen the development of the Tavan Tolgoi mine was approved. The resolution instructs relevant ministers to start construction of the Tavan Tolgoi Industrial Technology Park and coal preparation plant in the third quarter of 2021 based on the feasibility study.
The feasibility study of the Tavan Tolgoi coal preparation plant was discussed and approved by the Minerals Committee this month. The preliminary design of the project is expected to be completed in July this year.
The coal preparation plant has a total production capacity of 30 million tons per year. The total cost of the project is USD915.3 million, and it is expected that a relatively high return on investment can be obtained within seven years.
