Global crude steel production up by 15.2% YOY in Mar

Global crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to World Steel Association (worldsteel) reached 169 million tonnes (Mt) in March 2021, up by 15.2% YOY, according to preliminary statistics released by worldsteel on April 22.
Production from China is estimated at 94 Mt in March 2021, up by 19.1% compared to March 2020.
India produced 10 Mt, up by 23.9% YOY. Japan produced 8.3 Mt, up by 4.6% YOY. The United States produced 7.1 Mt, up by 1.0% YOY.
According to estimation, Russia produced 6.6 Mt in March 2021, up by 9.4% YOY. South Korea produced 6.1 Mt, up by 4.7% YOY. Germany produced 3.6 Mt, up by 10.4% YOY. Production from Turkey was estimated at 3.4 Mt, up by 9.2% YOY, that from Brazil was 2.8 Mt, up by 4.1% YOY, and that from Iran was 2.6 Mt, up by 10.7% YOY.
