MIIT announces to launch energy conservation supervision in industry during 2021

In order to implement requirements of "The Energy Conservation Law of the People's Republic of China" and "Energy Conservation Measures for Industry", play the supervision and safeguard role of energy conservation inspection, improve energy conservation and energy efficiency in industry, boost green and high-quality development and help to achieve goals of peaking carbon dioxide emission and carbon neutral, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a notice for implement energy conservation supervision in industry during 2021.
The notice put forward that MIIT will conduct a special supervision on energy conservation in major industries, sort and inspect iron and steel, non-ferrous metal metallurgy, petrochemical, construction materials and other enterprises from major industries, and expand the supervision to all enterprises from industries including iron and steel, cement and electrolytic aluminum. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the energy conservation supervision will cover all enterprises in major industries.
