China will formulate action plans and route maps on peak carbon emission in steel industry. It's disclosed that the revised draft of Action Plans on Peak Carbon Emission and Carbon Reduction in Chinese Steel Industry was formulated. The revised draft includes five measures to achieve peak carbon emission and carbon reduction targets.
There are two primary targets on peak carbon emission in steel industry in China. The first one is to realize peak carbon emission in steel industry before 2025 and the second one is to cut carbon emission volume by 30% from the peak level and the carbon emission volume by 420 million tons by 2030. Five measures to realize the above targets are as follow: boosting green layout, advocating energy conservation, improving energy efficiency, optimizing energy consumption structure, formulating circular economy industry chains and adopting low-carbon technology.
