Germanium, is a chemical element, chemical symbol GE, atomic number is 32, atomic weight is 72.64, belonging to the Iva family of elements. Melting point is 937.4℃, boiling point is 2,830℃, density is 5.35g/cm3, hardness hovers at 6-6.5. Germanium is a kind of gray and white metal, shiny, hard, belongs to the carbon group, has obvious nonmetallic properties. Germanium is chemically stable and does not interact with air or water vapor at room temperature, but it can form germanium dioxide quickly at 600 ~ 700℃.
