HBIS releases March's bidding result for Chinese silicomanganese

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 21 - HBIS, the largest rebar producer China, announced last Friday that its purchase volume for Chinese silicomanganese for March stood at 15,730t, up by 400t from last month. They confirmed RMB7,350/t (USD1,140/t) delivered D/A six months as the final price, down by RMB50/t (USD7/t) MoM.
A source from the company disclosed, "We bought about 15,730t at RMB7,350/t (USD1,140/t) delivered D/A six months of Chinese silicomanganese 65/17 for March last Friday." They bade RMB7,300/t (USD1,132/t) in the first round, but most suppliers held their prices firm, so they confirmed RMB7,350/t (USD1,140/t) delivered D/A as the final price for March, down by RMB50/t (USD7/t) MoM. They bought about 15,330t at RMB7,400/t (USD1,147/t) delivered D/A six months for February.
With an annual consumption capacity of about 400,000t, the company expects to use 15,730t for March, up by 400t MoM.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese silicomanganese 65/17 stand at RMB7,000-7,200/t (USD1,085-1,116/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from last week.
