Recently, the "comments on iron and steel industry layout in Changzhi" was unveiled. According to the comments, the iron and steel industry layout in Changzhi will focus on Licheng county industrial park and Lucheng district economic and technological development zone, aiming at industry integration, product differentiation and enterprise intellectualization. The city will restructure and integrate its iron and steel production capacity through production capacity replacement, equity cooperation, property transfer and other means during the process, with the final goal of constructing the 10-million-ton steel and 400,000-ton coke production project in Licheng county industry park, and construct the 500,000-ton steel production project in Lucheng district economic and technological development zone by giving a full play to the advantage of Lucheng district in coking industry and purchasing iron and steel production capacity.
In order to promote the restructuring and integration of production capacity, Changzhi will set up a municipal iron and steel production capacity replacement index trading platform to advance merger, reorganization and production replacement of iron and steel enterprises by carrying out production capacity index trading. Besides, the city will coordinate all kinds of financial special funds to establish the iron and steel industry high-quality development planning and investment guiding fund, positively supporting staff resettlement, production capacity replacement, merger and reorganization, transformation and upgrading as well as relocation for environmental protection of iron and steel enterprises.
