CISA: China to strictly control steel capacity expansion and promote ultra-low emission transformation

On January 7, China Iron and Steel Association held a video conference to discuss ways to control steel and iron capacity expansion, ensure balance between production and demand, curb the rise in price of imported iron ore, reduce carbon emission as well as other issues with six president companies.

A chief executive of the association said at the end of the conference that China's steel industry still faces challenges and needs to further advance supply-side reform to cut capacity and improve supply chain performance.
