China's manufacturing PMI stays above 50-point mark indicating economic expansion for ten months in a row in Dec

China's manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) stood at 51.9% in December, down by 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, but above the critical point (50-point) for ten consecutive months, indicating a steady recovery of the manufacturing sector, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In terms of enterprise size, PMI of large enterprises was 52.7%, 0.3 percentage points lower than that of the previous month, but still above the critical point. The PMI for medium-sized enterprises was also 52.7%, up by 0.7 percentage points from the previous month, remaining above the critical point. The PMI for small businesses came in at 48.8%, 1.3 percentage points lower than the previous month and below the critical point.
In terms of the sub-index, among the five sub-indexes that constitute the manufacturing PMI, the production index and the new order index were all above the critical point, while the raw material inventory index, the employee index and the supplier delivery time index were all below the critical point.
