Wenshan Zinc and Indium resumes zinc ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Dec 20 - YTC Wenshan Zinc and Indium Smelting Co., Ltd., one of major zinc ingot producers in Yunnan, resumed production due to the completion of the overhaul, and expects to produce about 4,000t of zinc ingot in December, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.
According to the company's regular maintenance plan, the company ceased production since early December. "At present, we completed the overhaul and resumed production from late last week," the source said. The company is a subsidiary of Yunnan Tin Corporation (YTC), and uses zinc concentrate as raw material which is mainly from Hualian Zinc and Indium, a subsidiary of YTC. It produces zinc ingot and mainly sells it to traders and downstream plants in southern China by long-term orders.
With an annual production capacity of 120,000t of zinc ingot, the company produced about 10,000t in November, and expects to produce about 4,000t in December, holding no stock for the time being. It produced totally about 90,000t of the product in 2019 and about 100,700t in the first eleven months of 2020.
Mainstream prices for zinc ingot 99.995%min stood at RMB21,860-21,960/t (USD3,340-3,358/t) EXW in warehouse Guangzhou this Tuesday, up slightly by RMB10/t (USD1.53/t) from Monday.
