Australia launches first antidumping and countervailing sunset review against grinding balls from China

On December 14th, 2020, the Australian Anti-Dumping Committee issued Notice No. 2020/145, stating that, in response to applications submitted by domestic enterprises, it initiated the first anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review investigation on imports of grinding balls from China. The products under investigation in this case are iron grinding balls of Φ22mm-170 mm (inclusive), whether containing alloy or not, die-casted or forged; stainless steel balls, machined and/or polished precision balls and ball bearings are excluded from the scope of this investigation
On November 17th, 2015, the Australian Anti-Dumping Committee initiated an anti-dumping and countervailing investigation against grinding ball imports from China. The products involved were under customs codes of 7325 . 91 . 00 . 26, 7326 . 11 . 00 . 29 and 7326 . 90 . 90 . 59 . On April 21st, 2016, the Australian Anti-dumping Committee made a preliminary affirmative ruling on anti-dumping and countervailing duty of the products imported from China, and set the margin of dumping of the products at 12 . 6%-104 . 8% and the margin of subsidy at 0%-8 . 2% . On September 9th, 2016, the Australian Anti-Dumping Committee issued notice No. 2016/90 and No. 2016/91 for the final determination of anti-dumping and countervailing respectively against imports of grinding balls from China, ruled that the dumping margin for Chinese enterprises involved is 3 . 0%-95 . 4%, subsidization margin is 8 . 2% and officially imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on the involved products, the expiry date of the duties is September 9th, 2021.
. The investigation lasted from October 1st, 2019 to September 30th, 2020 . The Australian customs codes of the products involved were 7325 . 91 . 00 . 26, 7326 . 11 . 00 . 29 and 7326 . 90 . 90 . 60 (the code 7326 . 90 . 90 . 59 was updated to 7326 . 90 . 90 . 60 as of January 1st, 2017).
