China to fully ban import of solid waste from 2021

On 25 November, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission and General Administration of Customs jointly released the announcement on relevant matters of fully banning import of solid waste, explicitly banning import of solid waste by any means and prohibiting dumping, stacking and disposal of overseas solid waste within the territory of China. The announcement will take effect on 1 January, 2021.
