On 25 November, Yunnan Tin Company Limited announced that its tin smelting relocation upgrading and transformation project (change) qualifies for pilot production now and will go into pilot operation on 26 November.
According to the announcement, the second extraordinary general meeting of Yunnan Tin Company Limited in 2018 reviewed and approved the proposal on acquiring lead smelting related assets for tin smelting relocation upgrading and transformation project (change) and connected deals, approving the company to carry out the tin smelting relocation upgrading and transformation project (change) with a designed annual production capacity of 70,000 tons of tin products.
The tin industry branch will act as the executor of tin smelting production and operation of Yunnan Tin Company Limited after the relocation. The company plans to shut down the smelting branch after the project records smooth operation, in order to avoid impacts on its tin smelting production resulted from the relocation upgrading and transformation. The transition from pilot production to full operation will take a period.
