Shanxi launches centralized investigation and remediation for hidden dangers in coal mines

In just a dozen days since October, Shanxi Province has experienced two consecutive large coal mine accidents, making the relatively stable situation of safe production in coal mines severe. In order to effectively curb major coal mine accidents, Coal Mine Safety Supervision Bureau of Shanxi Province and the Shanxi Provincal Emergency Management Department jointly issued a document to clarify that from November 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021, a centralized investigation and rectification action for hidden dangers in coal mines would be carried out across the province.
There are 15 aspects as the focus of remediation, including overproduction, cross-layer and transboundary mining, illegal mining, illegal re-mining and so on. The centralized investigation and remediation process would be carried out simultaneously through self-inspection and self-reform by coal mining enterprises, comprehensive inspection by municipal and county regulatory authorities, as well as random inspection by provincial regulatory supervision departments.
