Handan eases emergency response level for heavy pollution weather to III

On October 27, Handan Ecology and Environment Bureau released a notice to ease the emergency response level for heavy pollution weather from II (orange alert) to III (yellow alert).
According to the notice, as dispersion conditions turn better affected by the new round of cold air, air quality will mainly be light and moderate pollution. Thus, the commanding office for heavy pollution weather emergency response of Handan decided to ease the emergency response level for heavy pollution weather from II (orange alert) to III (yellow alert) from 8:00 of October 28 and lift the warning at 12:00 of October 31.
The notice asked that with the premise of production safety and livelihood protection, enterprises in iron and steel, coking and brick and tile industries should conduct differentiated emission reduction measures for orange alert (II) in accordance with List for Industrial Sources of Heavy Pollution Weather Emergency Response and Emission Reduction in Handan 2020-2021 (submitted version) and enterprises in other industries should carry out differentiated emission reduction measures for yellow alert (III). Thermal power generation enterprises should increase the consumption of absorbent of desulfurization and denitrification and reduce the emission in maximum.
