TISCO finishes #5 blast furnace overhaul project and starts operation

On the morning of October 5, TISCO held a ceremony for the completion of overhaul project and opening of #5 blast furnace and successfully finished the ignition and blowing, which marked the end of #5 blast furnace overhaul project and the beginning of the second service term of the first extremely large blast furnace in Shanxi.
The furnace capacity of #5 blast furnace of TISCO is 4,350 cubic meters and its construction was finished on October 13, 2006. It was the fifth extremely large blast furnace with capacity over 4,000 cubic meters in China and the first one in Shanxi. During the first service term, it steadily supplied high-quality molten iron for steel-making process.
