Tangshan further tightens air quality control measures

On September 22, Tangshan municipal government issued the notice on further tightened controls. Due to the poor air quality during September 30th and 23th, the government decided to implement the Air Quality Assurance Plan from August to September 2020 in Tangshan in the premise of assuring security, tightening control from 20:00 on September 22, and the termination time will be notified separately. After the issuance of this notice, the implementation of the On Further Strengthening of Control Measures issued on September 18 shall be suspended.
Some sintering machines of certain iron and steel enterprises in all areas of Tangshan will stop production, allowing blast furnaces in production to reduce the production load not less than 15% by reducing oxygen enrichment all day long, and encouraging increasing the proportion of the raw material pellets and encouraging to stop the operation of sintering machines rather than pelleting ones when production conditions permit in some areas.
