An accidental abnormal shutdown of a flue gas desulphurization fan at Xiangfen Hongyuan Coke Chemical Co., Ltd. in Linfen, Shanxi led to a flue explosion on the morning of September 8, leaving two on-site employees injured and dead after invalid rescue efforts.
