Brazil's steel output and sales increase in July

Brazil's crude steel production in July was close to the level before the outbreak of the COVID-19 at the end of March, according to data released by the Brazilian Iron and Steel Industry Association (IABR) on Friday, while sales of flat and long steel also increased in July.
According to IABR data, crude steel production in July was 2.59 million tons, close to the average monthly output of 2 . 7 million tons in the first quarter, while up from 2 . 5 million tons in July last year.
IABR data also showed that steel sales increased by 8.3% YOY to 1 . 69 million tons in July, with sales of most of the long-rolled steel products used for civil construction up by 18 . 6% YOY.
