NDRC and MIIT hold video conference on solving steel overcapacity in 2020

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) jointly held a video conference on August 5 to solve the steel overcapacity in 2020, according to NDRC's website. The two sides made arrangements for deepening supply-side structural reform and reducing excess capacity in the steel industry in 2020.
The meeting stressed that all relevant local governments should implement the tasks in accordance with the Outline of Steel Overcapacity Reduction in 2020 to effectively consolidate the achievements in overcapacity reduction and further fulfill the responsibilities to resolutely accomplish all tasks.
