Iron and steel industry in Ningxia sees rapid growth in H1

According to information from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Ningxia, in the first half (H1) of 2020, three iron and steel enterprises in Ningxia achieved the total industrial output value of RMB6.44 billion (USD922 million), up by 41.7% YOY. The output of products created a new record high. The output of crude steel reached 1.785 million tons, up by 37.5% YOY, and the output of steel products reached 1.908 million tons, up by 44.5% YOY.
Since 2020, on the basis of comprehensively completing merger and acquisition, the iron and steel industry in Ningxia has taken projects as the driving force to expedite the transformation and upgrading of the industry. Among the three iron and steel enterprises, Jianlong Longxiang Iron and Steel started the industrial chain supplementary project and mainly constructed Phase III of the transformation and upgrading project for two high-speed production lines. Once the construction is completed, Jianlong Longxiang Iron and Steel would become the largest producer of iron and steel in Ningxia. Xinghua Iron and Steel focused on new modern steel-making technology and actively constructed the iron and steel capacity transfer, transformation and upgrading project. Ningxia Iron and Steel completed the construction of the high-speed wire products project with the capacity of 600,000t and started steel moulding and deep processing firstly. It is busy building the 1,580 cubic meters blast furnace project to ensure that the project could start operation as scheduled.
