Shanxi to allow production of top-notch enterprises during heavy polluted days

On 22 July, Department of Ecology and Environment of Shanxi Province announced that Shanxi will divide enterprises into four types (A, B, C and D) from the perspectives of green development level, investment in pollution control, effects of pollution control, environment credit and other aspects, implement performance rating system and carry out differentiated emergency emission reduction measures during heavy polluted days based on rating results, which indicate that enterprises of high green development level, big investment in pollution control, excellent effects of pollution control and high environment credit will be allowed to keep normal production during heavy polluted days.
39 key industries are involved this time. In accordance with the latest "Shanxi's emergency plan for heavy polluted days", the province will take different control measures against different types of enterprises during heavy polluted days. Shanxi won't compulsively require enterprises that satisfy level-A standards of MEE to halt or curtail production in principle and will impose fewer requirements on halt or curtail production for enterprises that satisfy level-B standards.
