The predecessor of Gangchen Stainless Steel was Southwest Stainless Steel, which was renamed Gangchen Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. after bankruptcy and reorganization. Gangchen Stainless Steel Company has newly invested nearly 500 million yuan (USD71.55 million). On the basis of overhauling the original equipment, it has also upgraded the production line to make the production line more automated and the product quality more stable, which laid a foundation for the enterprise to expand the product category in the next step.
Hu Jing, assistant to the general manager of Sichuan Gangchen Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., said: "We plan to invest 200-300 million yuan (USD28.62-42.93 million) in the next step. The next transformation is mainly focused on expanding the variety of products. Now there is no 400 series stainless steel produced in Sichuan and Chongqing area, so the next step is to expand the production of 400 series products. After the transformation, we can produce 200, 300 and 400 series stainless steel ".
After it is put into commercial production, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of steel, 1.3 million tons of hot-rolled pickling, and an operating income of 10 billion yuan (USD 1.43 million).
