Hebei releases three-year action plan for iron and steel industry chain cluster development

Recently, Hebei Development and Reform Commission released "Hebei's three-year action plan for iron and steel industry chain cluster development" in order to steadily improve stability and competitiveness of iron and steel industry chain and supply chain, accelerate expanding industry chain clusters of bright future, high technological content and strong connection with products and comprehensively promote the construction of a powerful iron and steel province.
According to the plan, Hebei will focus on trans-regional merger and reorganization of private iron and steel enterprises, incorporate one or two world-class large-scaled groups, three to five domestically influential large-scaled groups and eight to ten new, professional and special groups.
Based on the plan, the relocation projects of HBIS Shisteel , HBIS Laoting Steel and Taihang Steel will be put into production in 2020, HBIS Xuansteel will completely halt production in 2021 and the relocation project of urban steel mills will be basically completed in 2022. Hebei will orderly promote gathering of iron and steel production capacity in areas surrounding ports and railways and put emphasis on construction of Caofeidian, Jingtang port (Laoting), Fengnan coastal industrial zone and Bohai New Area port high-quality iron and steel bases.
