1. Market Highlights
Supported by the increased production cost, wire rod and rebar prices in North China tried to move up with slight range in June. However, discouraged by the reduced demand in the rainy season, prices in East China and South China went down slightly this month . Disappointed by the obviously reduced profit and cloudy market outlook, steel mills began to become less active in wire rod and rebar production this month.
In the international market, wire rod and rebar prices in Malaysia and India went down gradually dragged by the weak demand from construction projects after the COVID-19. Chinese steel mills still tried to hike wire rod and rebar export prices this month but showed softened confidence in the coming market.
