Huize Aluminum and Northern Rare Earth jointly built new rare earth aluminum alloy and high-end industrial aluminum profile project

Development and Reform Commission of Donghe District, Baotou revealed that Huize Aluminum and Northern Rare Earth would build a new rare earth aluminum alloy and high-end industrial aluminum profile project.
Based on the abundant rare earth resources in Baotou, the project will explore the comprehensive utilization of rare earth resources in the production of aluminum alloy to enrich the structure of aluminum alloy products and improve the high-grade added value of products.
The project is located in the aluminum industry park in Donghe district, Baotou city with a total investment of 600 million yuan (83.72 million US dollars) and a construction period from 2020 to 2021. The project would have an annual output of 300,000 tons of aluminum alloy casting bars (ingots) and 100,000 tons of special aluminum alloy industrial profiles. The investment in 2020 is expected to reach 300 million yuan (41.86 million US dollars). At present, the geological prospecting, site leveling and design have been completed; the conditions for approval and planning of the land have been handled and the EIA has been approved. The construction of the project will be started after the land is listed. The project is expected to achieve an annual sales revenue of 5 billion yuan (0.70 billion US dollars) with taxation of 50 million yuan (6.98 million US dollars) after going into operation.
