On 10 May, the commencement ceremony for Guangxi Zhongshan Huashan rare earth mine project was held in Tanggong village rare earth mine, Honghua, Zhongshan.
Mining license for the project was approved by Ministry of Natural Resources in November 2019 with the mining right covering an area of 13.212 square kilometers . With a mine life of about 20 years, the project owns 47,000 tons of all-phase rare earth oxides and 23,800 tons of exploitable ionic rare earth oxides . With a designed annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of mixed rare earth oxides, the project will construct two workshops in the first stage with a total investment of over RMB200 million (USD28 . 12 million), expecting to complete and put one of the workshops into production this August . After reaching the designed production capacity, the project will see an annual production value of about RMB200 million (USD28 . 12 million) and pay a tax of over RMB60 million (USD8 . 44 million), and result in over RMB1 billion (USD0 . 14 billion) in midstream and downstream rare earth industry projects.
