Northern Copper's high performance copper strip & foil and CCL project inaugurated

On April 15, the high performance copper strip & foil and CCL project owned by Northern Copper Industry Co., Ltd. was inaugurated at Shanxi North Copper New Material Technology Co., Ltd., which operates under Zhongtiaoshan Non-ferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd.
Northern Copper, a subsidiary of Zhongtiaoshan Non-ferrous Metals Group, chose to build the project at Yuncheng Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project will be able to produce 50,000t of high-performance rolled copper strip, 10,000t of high precision rolled copper foil and 2-million-square-meter of double-layer flexible copper clad laminate (CCL) per year. With investment of RMB2.396 billion (USD339 million), the project covers an area of 300mu with total floor space of 92,000 square meters and total installed capacity of 74,000 kilowatt. The project is to be built in two phases, with the construction period for the phase I estimated at 21 months. Upon completion, the project is expected to generate annual operating revenue of RMB3.22 billion (USD455 million) and profit of RMB370 million (USD52.29 million), and pay taxes of RMB236 million (USD33.36 million).
