On April 8, Jinan Huaiyin Economic Development Zone held the signing ceremony of key investment attraction projects in 2020, including the 3rd-generation semiconductor industrial cluster project of Zhonghong Xinjing.
The construction of the project is expected to last five years, with the total investment of RMB11.1 billion (USD1.58 billion). The project will build a production line and a processing line of 6-8 inch monocrystalline silicon carbide. It will also construct a production line for the silicon carbide epitaxial, device, module, sealing and testing, respectively. In addition, one gallium nitride pilot test line will also be built. The project is committed to building the world's leading "national strategic emerging semiconductor research institute".
