Shandong to strictly control new projects in overcapacity and high energy-consuming industries

Recently, Shandong government issued a notice to further standardize projects management and supervision in overcapacity and high energy-consuming industries and strictly implement capacity reduction replacement for necessary new projects in these industries.
The ratio of coking capacity reduction replacement is 10% in 2019-2020, 20% in 2021-2022, 30% in 2023-2024, and 40% in 2025 and later. The proportion of steel capacity reduction and replacement will be 10%, 25% and 40% in cities along the air pollution transmission channel from 2020 to 2022, and 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% in cities along Jiaoji Railway from 2022 to 2025. Projects without capacity replacement shall be unapproved or revoked.
