Bauxite from EGA's GAC arrives at Dongjiakou port

On March 15, 2020, the first shipment of the commercial bauxite mine of Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) arrived at Dongjiakou port of Qingdao with a total weight of about 177,500 tons
On November 25, 2019, EGA announced that it signed a five-year bauxite supply contract with Xinfa Group and will supply bauxite from the company's Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC).
GAC began exporting bauxite in August 2019. EGA invested some $1 . 4 billion to develop GAC, one of the largest greenfield investments in Guinea in the past 40 years.
EGA set up a transshipment facility in Guinea so that its bauxite can be transported by Capesize vessels to reduce the cost of shipping per ton.
EGA also signed a long-term contract with India's Vedanta in July 2019 and will supply bauxite by GAC.
