1. Market Highlights
In early February, the transportation faced impediments affected by the epidemic, so the production of ferrochrome producers saw restrictions and the supply dropped accordingly. Thus, producers raised their quotations and prices for HC ferrochrome and LC ferrochrome edged up . In late February, the production recovered in accordance with the restoration of logistics . However, downstream demand was weak, so ferrochrome prices moved down slightly . Although downstream demand was soft, silicochromium prices moved up in February as the production saw restrictions and producers were resolute to keep their prices firm supported by low inventory.
This month, most downstream clients were out of production, so the demand was scarce and chrome metal producers lowered their quotations. Thus, prices for chrome metal in Chinese market and FOB prices for Chinese chrome metal edged down.
