Ministry of Commerce: China's import and export show signal of recovery and growth

On 5 March, Li Xingqian, Director of Foreign Trade Department, Ministry of Commerce, stated at the online press conference that China's import and export begin to show a positive signal of recovery and growth as China's policies and measures to stabilize foreign trade work and enterprises nationwide restart operation and production smoothly.
Li Xingqian disclosed at the press conference that enterprises nationwide accelerate restarting operation and production. The production resumption rate of key foreign trade enterprises in Zhejiang and Tianjin reaches 100% while that in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong and Chongqing exceeds 70%.
According to Li Xingqian, import and export data in Q1 every year is usually impacted by the Spring Festival and is inevitable to fluctuate this year under the influence of COVID-19, but the impacts would be temporary and short-term. The long-term growth of China's foreign trade doesn't change.
