China's nonferrous metal industry reports operating rate of 90.5%

According to China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the operating rate of 241 nonferrous metals smelting companies and aluminum and copper product plants stood at 90.5% as of February 26, up by 7.1 percentage points from that on February 19.
Jia Mingxing, deputy secretary general of the association said that smelters of frequently-used nonferrous metals kept normal operating rate amid the epidemic, with capacity utilization rate of over 85%. Up to February 26, copper smelters reported capacity utilization rate of 81.5%, aluminum smelters reported capacity utilization rate of 87.6%, and lead & zinc smelters reported rate of 80.2%.
