Egypt imposes new temporary duties on imported square billet and rebar

Ministry of Trade and Industry of Egypt announced this Friday that a temporary duty of 16% on imported square billet and a temporary duty of 25% on imported rebar have come into effect and will be effective for three years.
Investigation showed that Egyptian industries have been negatively impacted by increasing imported goods. The new temporary duties took effect this Saturday.
Egypt began to impose a temporary duty of 15% on imported square billet and a temporary duty of 25% on imported rebar from this April and the term of validity was 180 days.
