In August, Chinese first grade black silicon carbide prices rose first, and then dropped; prices for second grade products steadily declined. The environmental protection inspection in Gansu ended on the 15th, and then some local producers resumed production. The Sino-US trade war continued to increase, and China and the United States would start negotiations again in September.
Prices for green silicon carbide natural lump, grain sand and unpopular JIS1500 were stable; prices for popular F240-280 and JIS2000 were high and supply was tight.
The export market picked up slightly. The demand for silicon carbide micro powder in the polishing and semiconductor manufacturing fields in Japan and South Korea increased, and the purchase volume increased. There was no significant change in demand in Europe and the United States.
