Yunnan Copper Science & Technology sells 5N selenium

It is reported that Yunnan Copper Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as " Yunnan Copper " or "the company") sold 3kg of 5N selenium extracted from its experiment, marking that the product of the company has the basic conditions for pilot scale.
After the relocation of a branch of Yunnan Copper to Fumin factory in December 2017, the "industrial base of state engineering laboratory of vacuum metallurgy" jointly built by Yunnan Copper and the state key laboratory of vacuum metallurgy of Kunming University of Science and Technology was officially unveiled. University-enterprise cooperation has promoted the technical progress and equipment upgrading in selenium production, and reduced the energy consumption and maintenance costs. However, the company's leaders realized that If they only extract crude selenium 98%, their profits are not high because the industry threshold of this product is low without strong core competitiveness. Thus, they decided to develop high-purity selenium products.
The research and development team conducted tests on three different raw materials, selected and determined the final process route and relevant process parameters, and finally developed selenium 99.99966% through more than 600 samples experimental analysis. On February 21, Yunnan Nonferrous Metals and Products Quality Supervision and Testing Station announced that the analysis results of high-purity selenium samples submitted by the research and development team reached the industry standard. After that, the team immediately launched a 5N selenium pilot test (1-3kg). On a lab scale basis, they produced 3kg of 5N selenium in just one month and delivered it to the customers.
