Benxi Steel Plates Steel Scrap Plant cut 64,200t of steel scrap in H1 2019

In the first half of 2019, Benxi Steel Plates Steel Scrap Plant organized the cutting and processing of steel and iron scrap and totally cut 64,200t of steel, up by 25,300t compared with the original plan, ranking the top among plants in the same period and saving RMB148 million (USD20.67 million) for Benxi Steel on purchasing steel scrap.
Currently, 70% of steel scrap that Benxi Steel uses is purchased and 30% comes from internal recycled steel scrap. The internal recycled steel scrap can be divided into productive recycled steel scrap and nonproductive recycled steel scrap. In the first half of 2019, the plant totally recycled 44,500t of nonproductive recycled steel scrap from all branches and departments of Benxi Steel, including 14,614t of recycled steel scrap that has backlogged for years and was beyond original plan.
