Jiangxi Copper starts construction of ED copper foil phase III expansion project

On August 8, Jiangxi Copper Corporation Limited announced the start of construction of the 15,000tpy electrodeposited (ED) copper foils phase III expansion project owned by Jiangxi Copper Yates Foil Inc. at Jiangxi Copper (Nanchang) High-Tech Industry Development Zone.
With total investment of 956.9 million yuan (136 million US dollars), the project would expand new plant area of around 30,237.14 square meters and is expected to go into operation by late 2020. The project will adopt Yates Foil's own technology, with key equipment imported from abroad. When reaching full capacity, the project will add new production capacity of 15,000tpy of electrodeposited copper foils to Jiangxi Copper who will then have a total capacity of 30,000tpy and can better satisfy the demand for high-precision copper foil, especially the ultra-thin high-end copper foil used for lithium battery, from customers both at home and abroad.
