1. Market Highlights
Prices for steel plate fluctuated frequently with small changes during the month. Though producers and traders were active in lifting prices boosted by higher prices of raw materials such as iron ore and steel billet, the market price for steel plate failed to go up significantly dragged by the weak demand. The rigid demand shrank obviously in the off-season. Besides, end users were in low purchasing activities, complaining reduced orders for finished products but rising purchasing prices for steel plate. In the meantime, prices for steel plate decreased a little bit in other Asian markets during the month. Insiders foresee a slight price decline for steel plate in August.
