Global primary aluminum output down by 1.3% MOM in Jun

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Jul 19 - According to International Aluminum Institute, the global primary aluminum output was around 5.29 million tonnes in June 2019, down by about 1.3% MOM and 1.3% YOY. From January to June, the global primary aluminum output was about 31.62 million tonnes, up slightly by 0.2% compared with the same period of last year.
In June, China produced about 3 million tonnes of primary aluminum, down by around 0.3% MOM. Gulf Cooperation Council's primary aluminum output decreased by about 3.2% MOM to 449,000 tonnes in the month. The output in East and Central Europe was 344,000 tonnes in June, down by about 2.6% MOM, and that in North America was 314,000 tonnes, down by about 3.7% MOM.
