1. Market Highlights
Though prices for raw materials kept going up during the month, those for section steel declined nationwide dragged by the slow market and traders' pessimistic attitudes. The downstream industry ran slowly, and the rigid demand for section steel remained insufficient. Besides, end users were inactive in placing large orders and only purchased according to urgent needs seeing frequent price changes. Complaining rising production costs but decreasing selling prices, mills for section steel were less active in producing during the month. In the meantime, prices for section steel also declined slightly in other Asian markets during the month. Considering the overall market performance remains unsatisfactory, insiders foresee another price decrease for section steel in July.
