Tata Steel said it has secured a contract to provide high frequency induction (HFI) line pipe for an oil and gas project northeast of Shetland in the UK North Sea.
The company will manufacture more than 10 kilometers of HFI line pipe from its mill in Hartlepool for 'sleeve pipe application' – housing smaller, critical pipelines – as part of a bundle system for the project.
The scope of work involves five different wall thicknesses and five different diameters and the contract duration is 28 weeks.
