Tangshan issues timetable of production limitation and suspension for iron and steel enterprises in the city

On June 23, Tangshan held a meeting for deployment of production limitation and suspension for iron and steel enterprises in the city. Tangshan issued a new timetable of production limitation and suspension for iron and steel enterprises. The target is to further reduce the emission of industrial pollutants, improve the quality of air and lower the degree of pollution caused by industrial gas such as sulfur dioxide, nitric oxides, carbon monoxide.
It is said that the municipal government of Tangshan issued a notice to iron and steel enterprises in the city about production limitation and suspension. The notice requires that before August 1, iron and steel enterprises with A-performance such as Shougang Group Jingtang Company and Wenfeng Iron and Steel in Caofeidian, Tansteel Plate and Delong Iron and Steel in Laoting, Zongheng Iron and Steel in Fengnan should limit 20% production of sintering machines, vertical furnaces and blast furnaces, converters and lime kilns; it also requires the limits 50% of production of sintering machines (pellet), blast furnaces, converters and lime kilns in other enterprises and griddles should be restricted in production. After August 1, that if the measures will be carried out or not will be decided by air quality and meteorological conditions in the city.
The replaced capacity should stop production in time. The iron and steel facilities and coking facilities in operation due to capacity replacement for step one phase two of Shougang Group Jingtang Company and Zongheng Iron and Steel in Fengnan, should be closed in conform with the promised time limit. Fengnan should ensure the suspension of Yuefeng Iron and Steel. Tongbao, Lanhai, Rongfeng and Dongfang (part of facilities) should be shut down before July 10.
All the departments and officials related should carry out responsibilities strictly. Governments in different levels should fulfill duties to manage enterprises in local area with the top leaders as the first responsible person. Leaders for this division should organize enterprises to limit or suspend production in time. At the same time, the list of production limitation and suspension should be published on websites of local governments and major media in a timely manner.
